Modules 7

Links to my website are below for quick access and include links to all pages except the index homepage that I have not updated at this moment. I'm in the process of moving all modules from the index page to a separate module tab for grading so that I can make my index page into my website landing page. Also, there is not a full copy of the website prior to module 6 because I built the site intentionally with accessibility syntax coding in mind to start. So, the site still looks the same as I originally created it.

I ran my site through Wave and rated 0 on errors, contrast, or other major issues. I have no ARIA code so there were no issues there, and my structure read the way I intended it to be read on each page. Wave gave me 2 alerts for one page, and 1 of those alerts was consistent across the site. The single alert was for one photo that needed an alt tag adjustment for being too long. The consistent alert across the website was for an h4 tag that was out of order. I fixed that by making it a P tag with a class and adjusting both html and css files. Aside from those issues, I added SEO meta tags in the beggining of all the website HTML, plus the relevant information.

For Contrast testing, my header and footer rated at 14.9, navbar at 7.72, main content at 19.2, and aside at 17.3.

Usibility Questions:

For usability testing I had 3 people test my site with the following instructions:

  • - Find the recommendations page.

    - Go to the blog page and find the links to the most recent blogs.

    - What did you look at first on the pages, or what first draws your attention?

    - Does the color scheme make it easy to find information?

    - Are all sections easy to ready?

  • Usibility Results:

    User 1:

    - Found the page immediately with no issues.

    - Went to the page and scrolled down, then back up and found the links quickly.

    - Stated they looked first at the header and then the main content title.

    - They stated that the color scheme separates the information well.

    - They found it very easy to read.

    User 2:

    - Also found the page immediately with no issues.

    - Also went to the page and scrolled down, then back up and found the links quickly.

    - Stated they first looked at the main content title and then the navbar.

    - They liked the color scheme but noted they think the navbar and text might blend a bit.

    - Also found it very easy to read.
